The metaphor is the way we think about how to build the system. We didn't have a metaphore at bivio. In hindsight, I think our metaphor was: Program declaratively using linkages to avoid redundancy and to ensure reliablity. Perhaps writing this down would have helped to improve communication within the group. It's not an easy metaphor to follow, so we've had to compromise at times.

We did have a mission: best online club accounting service. I'm happy to say we achieved our mission. We've won many awards for our software. We've got over 50,000 club members using our system.
